A shooting at Fairfield’s Solano Town Center left seven people shot and one dead, according to a CBS Sacramento report citing Fairfield police.
The shooting was reported at about 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Spirit Halloween store inside the mall, the Napa Valley Register reported. The newspaper said Fairfield police described the situation as an “active incident” in a social media post at 9:06 p.m., while officers and emergency crews from several local agencies responded.
OC Scanner said it was relaying new information from Fairfield police that three other victims were in critical condition. Mehr News, citing a source referenced by NBC Bay Area, also reported that some victims were critically injured and officers were searching for a suspect.
The supplied reports do not establish whether a suspect has been arrested or provide information about the victims’ identities or a possible motive. The Napa Valley Register reported that police announced a news conference was planned for 11:30 p.m. Friday; the available coverage does not include details from that briefing.
