Rachael Reed was among seven passengers named by their families after a Learjet 60 crashed near Greenacres in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people aboard.
A joint family statement identified Reed, Charmi Fehr, Adam Robinson, Helen Sharp, their children Emma and Charlie, and the family’s nanny, Anita Maria Cetina. CBS Miami reported that the statement was released on Monday, 2 November, the day after the crash. The families described Reed and Fehr as “full of joy and adventure” and asked for privacy as they grieve.
The two pilots were identified separately. CBS Miami reported that the captain was Jeff Gregory, 55, and the co-pilot was Nathalia Filgueiras, 20. Together with the seven passengers, they made up the nine people killed.
The Learjet departed Austin, Texas, bound for North Eleuthera in the Bahamas, and crashed near Greenacres on Sunday, 1 November. CBS Austin reported that the aircraft left Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at about 10:37 a.m. and that the National Transportation Safety Board was investigating.
The cause of the crash has not been established. The NTSB said the crew reported ice and turbulence before the aircraft began descending rapidly, according to CBS Austin. Investigators are examining the wreckage and the circumstances leading up to the crash.
