A shooting was reported at the Palm Taxi Rank in Delft, Cape Town, on Wednesday morning, with commuters reportedly running for safety. The details remain unconfirmed: social-media posts and linked reports offer conflicting casualty claims, and no official confirmation is included in the available reporting.
AVMedia_za reported that shots were fired at the rank and commuters fled. Other posts, including one from markmywords, also described people running for safety. These are social-media accounts, not official statements.
A FACSA incident post placed the shooting shortly after 5 a.m. and said three people were reportedly shot. A separate Facebook post claimed two people were killed and a third wounded. Those casualty accounts differ and have not been independently verified; an X post by tndaba likewise said possible injuries or arrests had not been confirmed.
The incident is distinct from gunfire reported near Delft Main Road on Oct. 26. Cape Coast News’ Oct. 27 report concerned that earlier incident and did not establish a connection to the shooting at the taxi rank.
The circumstances of Wednesday’s shooting, any confirmed injuries or deaths, and whether anyone has been arrested remain unknown based on the available reports.
