Golden Gate Bridge Crash Closes Northbound Lanes; Traffic Reopens After Injury Crash

A two-vehicle crash on the Golden Gate Bridge shut all northbound lanes of Highway 101 during Tuesday morning’s commute, but the lanes had reopened by 7:30 a.m., according to ABC7 News. The station reported that the collision occurred at the bridge’s midspan and that ALERTSF reported injuries; no further details about the injuries were provided.

The California Highway Patrol told CBS San Francisco that officers were called shortly after 6:10 a.m. The northbound closure lasted more than an hour, while southbound lanes remained open. The resulting backup extended past the Toll Plaza and the Highway 1/Highway 101 interchange, CBS reported.

ABC7 said the incident also caused delays on both sides of the bridge. The CHP said all lanes were open as of 7:30 a.m.; details about the crash and the extent of the injuries were not immediately available, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
