Jio Platforms Shares Debut at ₹1,358, 21% Above IPO Price

Jio Platforms shares made their stock-market debut on Wednesday, October 28, at ₹1,358 apiece on the BSE and NSE—21.36% above the IPO issue price of ₹1,119. Business Standard reported the listing price and said the company had a market capitalisation of about ₹12.5 trillion at debut.

That valuation made Jio Platforms India’s second-most valuable listed company at the time, behind its parent, Reliance Industries, according to Business Standard. The publication reported that Bharti Airtel ranked third, based on BSE data.

The ₹30,213-crore IPO was subscribed 22.19 times, Business Standard reported. The listing price was ₹239 above the issue price, giving investors allotted shares a strong opening gain; the debut price does not indicate how the stock will perform through subsequent trading.
