Two Warsaw-bound passenger flights faced security checks after reported bomb threats on Tuesday, 3 November, with a LOT flight diverted to Warsaw-Modlin and an SAS flight inspected after landing at Warsaw Chopin, according to BBC reporting.
The LOT flight was travelling from London Heathrow to Chopin when a bomb-threat alert was announced on board at 9:54 a.m. local time, according to a statement from Modlin Airport reported by Reuters and carried by ABC News. The Boeing 737 MAX landed at Modlin at 10:01 a.m. with 181 people aboard. The airport said passengers later disembarked while authorities checked the reported threat.
A separate SAS flight from Copenhagen landed as scheduled at Warsaw Chopin. The airport said the aircraft was being checked by security services, the BBC reported. Chopin continued operating during the response, although one area of its apron was closed.
Modlin temporarily suspended operations while checks were under way. The airport later said operations had resumed, while the aircraft remained under examination by relevant authorities, according to the BBC.
The available reports do not establish whether explosives were found or whether either threat was genuine. No link between the two reports has been established in the cited coverage.
