Fourteen firefighting appliances were sent to a fire on Canford Heath in Poole on Wednesday evening, with residents advised to close windows and doors because of smoke.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called at 19:39 GMT on 4 November. In its latest report, ITV News Meridian said the fire covered about 2.5 acres and crews were working to bring it under control. A support vehicle was also sent from Gillingham.
Poole Fire Station advised residents to keep doors and windows closed and asked people to avoid the heath while firefighters tackled the blaze, according to ITV. The Bournemouth Echo reported that the fire service described the affected area as approximately 100 metres by 100 metres.
The BBC reported that the cause was not known. The reports supplied do not give casualty information, and no later outcome for the fire is established in the available coverage.
